APD needs help to resolve non-fatal October 13 shooting

ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana (KALB) – The Alexandria Police Department and Central Louisiana Crime Stoppers need your help in solving a non-fatal shootout on October 13, 2021.

Alexandria Police said that on October 13, 2021, at around 10 p.m., a man living in a house on the Louisiana Avenue block heard gunshots. He went out to see where they were coming from and found a shot dead man behind his house.

“He saw a man on the ground with gunshot wounds to his leg and foot,” said Lt. Lane Windham of the Alexandria Police Department. “He approached him to ask him what had happened, and he didn’t know. He said he was standing right there when gunshots rang out and he was hit several times.

Police were called to the scene.

“An officer showed up and when he arrived they applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg,” said Lt. Windham. “They waited there to get evidence of the scene and found cartridge cases by the street. “

The victim was taken to hospital where she recovered from her injuries. But police said he was unable to tell them much about what had happened when they spoke to him.

“He basically said he was standing outside the residence when gunshots rang out,” Lt. Windham said. “He couldn’t tell where the shots were coming from.”

The police don’t have much else to do. But, maybe you heard something or saw something and can help resolve the matter.
