CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Crime Stoppers has added another homicide to its list of cold cases for members of the community to help solve.
Deanna McLaughlin, president of Clarksville Crime Stoppers, said May 27, 2022 marks the third anniversary of the unsolved Carol Bowman murder. On May 27, 2019, a police officer responded to a welfare check at 102 Church Court. Officers and EMS found Bowman on the couch with apparent head trauma. The investigation revealed that Bowman’s cell phone and some of his prescription medications were missing.
In its ongoing efforts to bring justice to the families of victims of unsolved murders, Crime Stoppers has added this case to the list of unsolved murders that are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
McLaughlin said the reward was $1,000, however, in December the Crime Stoppers board voted to increase the amount.
“We always want to point out that someone may have a small piece of information that is not significant, but it may be a piece of information that law enforcement needs to build their case,” McLaughlin.
McLaughlin said she hopes to see some of the cold cases resolved.
“If one of those victims was a family member, you would want someone to provide information. You can do that for one of those families,” she said.
For those worried about speaking out, McLaughlin said the process was anonymous. Your location, phone number, computer information, etc. will not be captured. You will be assigned a unique number which you will use throughout the tipping process.
“We operate separately from law enforcement,” she said. “We act as a liaison between people who have information and the authorities.”
If you have information about these crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS or go to www.p3tips.com and leave a tip. For more information, visit clarksvillecrimestoppers/unsolvedmurders.
