Crime Stoppers asks for leads after 2 people were shot

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Champaign County Crime Stoppers needs help finding more information about a shooting.

Two people were affected and are recovering in hospital.

A 19-year-old man and a 25-year-old man are both stable after being shot earlier this month.

Police responded to the intersection of White Oak Court and N. 3rd Street to a report of a large rally and scuffle. It was around 3:55 a.m. on Saturday August 13th.

Shortly after police arrived, officers heard dozens of gunshots and found the 19-year-old victim with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment. It was then that the second victim, a 25-year-old man, presented to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

If you have information about this incident, you can report it anonymously.

If it leads to an arrest, you are entitled to up to $5,000.

Police are asking any resident or business in the nearby area with outdoor surveillance cameras and/or people with cellphone video to review footage of any suspicious person or vehicle captured in the area during, before or after the incident.
