Crime Stoppers honors members of law enforcement

Many members of the law enforcement community serving Junction City, Geary County, Fort Riley and Grandview Plaza gathered at the Milford Lake Conference Center Friday evening. The occasion was the 7th Annual Law Enforcement Banquet.

The large audience in attendance enjoyed a great meal, heard from 1st District Congresswoman Tracey Mann, and recognized 14 members of the law enforcement community who were honored for their work.

Congresswoman Tracey Mann

Mann said in his recent State of the Union address that the president finally said “we should defund the police. I hope the rest of his party agrees with him.” Mann said, “We need to make sure the men and women who protect American citizens, all of you, from criminals have all the resources you need to do your job well.”

Mann observed that murders in the United States last year increased by about 30%, the largest one-year increase on record. “Now more than ever, we need to support our law enforcement as you all protect our communities, our homes and our children.”

Many members of different departments and agencies were honored at the banquet.
