Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 scholarship

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) – Champaign County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 scholarship to a Champaign County high school senior who is considering a career in criminal justice.

Applications must be completed and received before May 20, 2022 by Champaign County Crime Stoppers, PO Box 814, Champaign IL 61824, Where scanned and emailed to [email protected]. Applicants should include the completed application and two letters of recommendation, as well as your most recent transcripts or GPA.

The Champaign County Crime Stoppers Youth Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipient from completed and received applications. before May 20, 2022. Once the decision is made, the Youth Scholarship Chair will notify the successful applicant and their high school by June 1, 2022.

The successful applicant must then inform Crime Stoppers of the college or university they intend to attend, along with the name and address of the controller at that college or university. Champaign County Crime Stoppers will then issue a check for $500 of the applicant’s college or university’s choice, to be applied to the recipient’s account.

The recipient and their family or friends, along with a school representative will be invited and presented with a printed award at the annual Crime Stoppers luncheon to be held in July 2022.
