US Marshals and Crime Stoppers USA Test New Tipping Protocol and Make Payments to Confidential Sources Easier
WASHINGTON – US Marshals are working with Crime Stoppers USA to streamline the whistleblower process and make it easier for the agency to compensate confidential sources.
Using the P3 Tips app, a pilot program is tested and evaluated in Orlando with the Florida / Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force to determine best practices.
Once established, the program will expand nationwide.
The pilot program will run from October 26, 2021 to March 1, 2022. This collaborative effort will allow the USMS to pay up to $ 500 anonymously through the established infrastructure of Crime Stoppers USA. Tipsters have the option of remaining completely anonymous throughout this process.
Tipsters can use their computer, iOS or Android mobile devices to deliver relevant information via real-time two-way conversations with USMS staff on the
USMS Tips app,
while remaining completely anonymous.
All tip submissions are safe, secure and discreet. The Marshals also encourage the public to use the app to report non-compliant sex offenders and potential threats to the federal judiciary.
